Main Purpose:

We are looking for a Credit Analyst to join our Credit Risk team in Athens, whose main responsibilities include the review of credit worthiness and preparation of credit recommendations for companies operating in the metals and mining business, principally in Europe. In this role you will be responsible for the determination of the risk appetite as well as the credit risk management of the assigned portfolio, working in an international environment, and supported by modern instruments.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a bank, trading or financial group

  • Must be educated in finance, trading or similar studies to degree level

  • Fluent in English

  • Someone who is organised, careful, pays attention to details, is able to work in a high-pressured environment, dealing with a range of high priority issues

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written to be applied also during meetings/calls with clients

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing counterpart information (qualitative/quantitative) and recommending credit limits for approval

  • Managing the credit risk of the assigned portfolio of clients principally, but not only, located throughout Europe

  • First point of contact for the assigned portfolio

  • Liaising with traders to understand the commercial relationship and determine the risk appetite of the assigned counterparts

  • Speaking to customers to obtain information / understand their business profile versus peer group

  • Work with Credit colleagues worldwide to manage exposures / set credit appetite for global groups

  • Working with insurance companies and insurance brokers as part of the credit management process

  • Follow key developments in the metals and minerals markets with specific focus on zinc and trading
