Job Description:

The Accounting and administrative manager is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate financial records of our 11 companies based in the Netherlands. In addition, he/she will be responsible for all the local compliance, filings and tax returns and make sure the companies are in good standing with local rules and requirements.
Based in our offices in Amsterdam and reporting directly to our Chief Accountant in Cyprus, the Accounting and administrative manager is responsible for the local accounting and tax structure and ensure compliance with all local administrative and legal requirements.

The scope of work comprises 11 entities, mostly holding companies. He/She is responsible for applying Group accounting policies and reporting according to the Group’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Book-keeping in accordance with Group accounting processes and IFRS for statutory reporting.

  • Issue intercompany sales/purchases invoices.

  • Handle the monthly reporting process within the required timeline, and perform reconciliation of purchases ledger, sales ledger, general ledger, intercompany balances, bank movement, loans movement and review of the IS, BS and CF.

  • Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, if any, and liaison with the centralized Consolidation and Reporting team.

  • Report on a monthly basis to the Controlling team on the overall position of the investments held by the Netherlands companies, ie monitoring of changes and returns.

  • Handle the quarterly preparation of the group reporting pack for Group consolidation purposes.

  • Prepare annual management accounts, and if needed quarterly/monthly accounts on an ad hoc basis.

  • Liaison with the Treasury team for the processing of invoices and payments.

  • Liaison with the Tax team and provision of assistance for the annual corporate income tax returns, and any other tax related matters, ie WHT refund applications.

  • Liaison with internal teams, ie Legal, Corporate, Treasury, M&A and Controlling, for coordination of new transactions/projects of the NL companies.

  • Provide input to Management as required.

  • Completion of local surveys the NL companies might be selected for, ie Statistics Netherlands (CBS), DeNederlandscheBank Eurosystem.

Key Requirements:

  • 7 years + experience in Accounting, within an international company

  • Proven track record in dealing with local authorities and administrative agencies

  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices; knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS

  • CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent accounting certification

  • Good understanding of local tax environment

  • Willing to take initiatives

  • Conscious and methodical in approach

  • High degree of integrity and sincerity and the ability to inspire confidence

  • Ability to understand complex situations with a good eye for details

  • Excellent oral and written skills in Dutch and English
